will 135 heads fit on a 115

I have a 115 evinrude parts motor. Will the cylinder heads fit on my 135hp (1974) evinrude?<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Greg Hodges

Yes, they will. And the motor should idle slightly better. Don't mix. Use in sets.<br /><br />Good luck!

The only trick is to get them on the correct side and right side up. Its an easy trick. They only match up one way. Lol!<br /><br />What year is the 115?

Not sure. I'll have to check the # tomorrow. I did notice some white oil on top of the lower right piston. Is this something to be concerned about? There was 2 broken bolts in the water jacket/head over. That's why I'm replacing the heads.<br /><br />Also could swapping the heads fix this problem?<br /><br />Thanks again,<br /><br />Greg Hodges

White oil usually means water. Better find out where that came from! How much? Was it little drops? Was that piston down exposing the ports?<br /><br />Good luck!

The Piston was all the way up. And there was more than a few drops of white. Maybe enough to fill a thimble. The head gasket looked good but the bolts were not as tight as they should have been.<br /><br />I'm going to replace the heads, torquing the bolts to specs and then give a compression test.<br /><br />Thanks again,<br /><br />Greg Hodges
