Will 99 controls work on 93

I just bought a 1993 Evinrude 40hp motor. I know someone that has a set of 1999 controls and was wondering if they are compatible.

If not do you guys know where I can get a set that will work? It has electric tilt/trim as well.

One more question is can you manualy adjust the tilt if there is no electric? Just wondering cause after I mount it I will need to raise it so it doesn't drag.
I see it has a lever on the side but unsure how it functions.

the wiring harness is not the same. they do make an adapter but expensive. Ebay, johnson controls, you want the wiring harness with the big red plug connection.

this is unusal, but here is a brand new one, with trim n tilt. and a great seller.

to tilt the motor with out control. connect battery cables to motor. on the small trim lead there is a red, blue and green wire. red is hot, contact it with one of the others, one color is up, on is down.

As for those controls they dont come with cables. Plus that one T plug I have no clue what that is for.

Here are my plugs. I did not include the tilt/trim motor plug because I know what that is...

The RED one I know is for the main swith correct???

The black one you see is for what?? Looks alot like the trim plug but diff color wires.

I have no clue what the single wires are for.. Help??

the black one is for the OMS Pump the pins for the OMS oil tank. they all connect the internal motor harness. the T plug is the trim control. the second control will be fine.

Ok the OMS has been removed so I wont have to hook that one up. You mentioned pins? Is that the two smal pin plugs? You aslo said T connector. My trim plugs looks excatly like the OMS plug.. What is the T?
