Will a 1974 weedless lower unit fit into a 1973 evinrude 4

Need a new lower unit for my 73 4hp found a 1974 lower unit online. Will it fit my motor. The lower unit that was on the 4 was a weedless. Any help would be great thanks

If they are both weedless than yes but not sure if the standard guts are the same as the weedless.

You can use a weedless "foot" on a 1964 - 1972 high thrust 90 degree l.u. For 1973 the high thrust lower unit & midsection changed and carried through for a bunch of years (into the mid-80s). No longer could you just swap the foot over, but you could use the complete l.u & midsection from the donor.

Thank you for the help. I believe this will work out on mine. Mine is a 73 lightwin and the 74 l.u looks exactly like the one I took off.
