people tell you can swap a 90 and a 100 hp lower uint but what about a 115 will it work if they have the same shaft lenth?

The answer to the question in yer title line is: YUP. ;)

Dunno the answer to yer inarticulate and cornfusin' question in yer text as the 100hp in 1986, (if there was one). was not an inline6.

BTW: a short shaft, (15") will NOT swap to a long shaft, (20"), nor will an extra long shaft, (25") swap to a short shaft or a long shaft. Like to like; which one would think would be obvious, (but: maybe it isn't).

Me overpriced $.02. JR

bouth uints have a 20" shaft .I do have a question as to what pitch prop should I use for the 90hp? Please explain.

Which "uints" are we speakin' of here? The 115 inline6 or the 100? Are you tryin' to be dense on purpose? Maybe English is not yer native language, or maybe ya can't spell any better then I can. If so I apologize.

If yer problem is proof reading yer posts please do that and PLEASE stay focused!!!

If you are asking about a 1986 inline6 115 lower unit the gear ratio is the same as the 1986 90 inline6, so if yer boat is properly propped it will take the exact same prop.

If yer brand new to boating and need advice about sellecting the proper propeller fer an 90hp inline6 with a good LU: here is how I would recomend you proceed. Set up the boat as light as possible, (one person, minimum fuel and gear et al). Pick a prop that runs out as close as possible to 6,000 RPMs not over 6,000 RPMs @ WOT, (assuming the rest of yer engine is in good corndition).

See above fer me over price and a bit snarky $.02. Hope it helps ya. JR

Yer welcome.

If yer runnin' into submerged things in those LA Bayous I would not try a stainless wheel.

Stick with the aluminum ones, (and carry a spare), 17-21 P as I responded on yer other thread. JR
