Tough question. Depends on the age of the mat'l. And what's it protecting underneath? If you value the top more than the contents below, take it down. If you have stuff below that needs to stay dry.....<br /><br />But with the winds they're predicting for the Nor'east, it may survive.....<br /><br />Good Luck
Thanks Capt'n Mike! You're probably right. I'm going to leave it up. The winds are only predicted at about 40 kts. The boat does about that so I should be OK.
Age and "quality" I meant to say. There's one guy over by me whose enclosure (on his bayliner ) look like they have Seran Wrap in the clear sections. On the other hand I know a guy who spent $5000 and he can't even roll them up because the clear has a percentage of glass (or maybe plexi?) in there. Those things have seen many a blizzard!

Thanks Mike. I get really touchy about brand snobs, and not just regarding boats. When I had a Harley, I used to get grief from other "enthusiasts" when I waved at guys riding Japanese bikes. No, no, don't do that...they're not worthy of a wave from someone on a bike like WE have. Same thing with people who knock Bayliners!<br /><br />Anyway, glad you checked out my album. Although an 80s Bay, it's hardly a POS!
That's funny strat, I have a honda shadow and the grief I hear about my bayliner (from 'better' boat owners) is very similar to the greif I get about riding my shadow (from HD people). Glad I'm not the only one to make this comparison. I'm of the school of "you don't like it go play somewhere else". I like my toys and they treat me as well as I treat them.
Stratocaster,the reference Luna sea made was OBVIOUSLY to plastic windows and not to a Bayliner.I think the problem with some Bayliner owners is "Brand Paranoia" and not so much to do with the actual boat. Charlie
HA HA HA......I got a harley and a checkmate!!!<br />But seriously not trying to start anything, i dont care what you ride as long as you ride!<br />It seems funny to me though, ..i dont agree with the snobs(RUBS as we call them) that look down their nose at anyone for any reason.....having said that some of the people being looked down upon seem a little too touchy about it.....let it roll off like water on a ducks back....it really dont matter. I bought what I wanted, shopped around and got the best deal i could afford.
....oh and another thing....I like to go fishin in my jon....if i see someone looking down there nose, i can just go back in, get the checkmate, and spray them on the way by!!!!! To each his own i always say.
Jamar, I usually do let the comments roll off. However, the Bayliner urban myth may actually prevent someone from buying a perfectly good boat within their budget. That ticks me off.
