Will a 90hp lower end fit my 85hp?

I have a 1985 85hp force that needs a lower end. Someone offered me a lower unit from a 90hp (not sure of year yet, trying to get that info right now)

I was just curious if they are interchangeable? I have all the shafts from my 85 if i need to swap them over, but all the gears are blown.

Are the gear ratios the same?

What other donors would work?

The guy said late 80's or early 90's for the year but diddnt know. Said it hasnt been started in years. He only wants $200. I wonder if i could get it started? Or would it be possible to bolt my 85hp motor onto it?

Here's the motor. Guy only wants $200 for the whole thing.

Another question....will the 85hp prop bolt onto this motor?

Doing some research, it seems the 90hp has a 2 piece drive shaft, and the prop is different.
