Will a CR outdrive work?

I have a 93 Mariah Shabah with a 350 Magnum mercruiser (single engine). Had some issues earlier this summer with the outdrive...it's at the bottom of the lake.

I bought a used outdrive (Alpha Gen2) and gimble house. The problem is the outdrive is counter-rotating in lieu of standard rotation. The seller claims they were not aware of this, there was a RH prop on the drive when I got it, the seller says a LH prop will correct the problem. Does anyone know if this is true? I understand that most counter-rotating drives are used in twin engine setups but are the engines different (i.e. 1 is standard and the other is counter)? If the engines are the same than that would leave me to believe a LH prop will work for my situation.

Thanks in advance. LL

Engines are the same, the lower units of the CR drives are totally different from the standard rotation drive.
No you can't just change prop direction and keep going. The drive isn't set up for that.
