will a johnson parts motor be ok for evinrude?

i have a 1971 9.5 evinrude sportwin and i found a 9.5 johnson i think its a 1969 or 1970. they made both motors from 64 to 73. the evinrude runs great but im missing the choke lever and the prop is nicer on the johson. they look the same but im not going to buy the motor just for the choke lever. the johnson has no spark thats ok just asking if they are completly compatable?
