Will a Volvo Penta 275 interchange with a 280?

I have a 1986 Bayliner capri with a chevy 305 and a Volov Penta 275 outdrive. I found a junk boat with a Volvo Penta 280 outdrive. Will the 280 work as a spare outdrive should anything ever happen to the 275? Can I just unbolt the 275 from the transom and bolt the 280 in its place?
Thanks in advance for any responces. I'm a decent mechanic and a better electrician and I am new to boating and I just don't know what is compatable with what??
