I recently bought a fishin barge 21. It is in a slip at a marina. The trailer that came with the boat doesn't measure up. The bunks measure 16ft. Will it haul a 21 ft pontoon safely?

:welcome: aboard Barryy. Nice to have you join us...

I can say that without some pictures your question may not get many if any answers. While you can see the boat and trailer, we can't. So post a few pictures and we can offer better suggestions... JMHO!

Pics would help. I just went out and measured my 24' 'toon and it's 55" from the front of the deck to where the tubes flatten out parallel to the deck. I think you'll be OK but make sure the stern end of the tubes are on the bunks as that's where the most weight is. Even if you have to move the winch post ahead.

The overall length of the trailer should be about 110-125% of the boat length from transom to tip of bow.

The trailer that comes with my SunTracker 21' pontoon in my signature comes with 16' bunks.
Overall length of the trailer is 24'.
My trailer is a tandem but they also sold single axle trailers for this boat. Mine has brakes on one axle.

Thank you all for the info. The length of my trailer is 23 ft. If I move my winch post back I should have 2 ft hanging off the back.
