Will it fit?

I have a 1974 evinrude 70hp motor and I am trying to get the new style ('79 and up) power trim and tilt unit on it. I found a midsection from a 1980 50hp evinrude, my question is will my powerhead and lower unit fit on that midsection? And my other question is will the pt&t unit fit on the 50hp mindsection?<br /><br />Thanks in advance for the help.

XR250,<br /><br />The short answer is no. The 70 had a larger lower unit and mid.
