I tested the water thermostat yesterday on my 125HP Evinrude 1971 it was good.
During the installation, the thermostat pin slipped from my hand and fell into the first hole from right in the housing (behind the thermostat) and from there into the hole of the exhaust housing ,I don't know where it could go from there!
I removed the thermostat housing, put the muffs on and flushed it but the water came out from the two other openings not from the center opening on top of the exhaust housing where the pin fell. Anyway the water didn't spit the pin out.I'm worried if the pin can cause damage to my engine during the water circulation .
How do I know where the pin is set? can I remove it? i f not (left there) will it hurt the engine?
Thank you in advance!
