Completely rebuilt, including carburators, Johnson V6 140hp will not idle between 800-1200rpm after running for an hour.

jmeyers, if you're still running the 25:1 break-in pre-mix, this can cause poor idling. OMC owners manual says improper fuel mix can cause poor idling. I've got a rebuilt '87 70hp Evinrude with the same situation. Should clear up when you go back to 50:1. If you're already back on 50:1 now, you're probably going to have to look at the carbs, float levels, etc.

Oil feed is automatic thru a separate tank. They did put extra oil in the gas when they did the rebuild. Have added gas to gas tank since so oil there should be about gone. Will check to see if automatic feed is set correctly.

OK, thats a 1986 140. A small bore V4 looper.

Is it just at idle on the hose? Double oil? What spark plugs? Thermostats in or out?
