Will Simple Green Remove Salt Deposits from Engine?

I use my 21' boat (5.7 with Merc Alpha I) in saltwater. After each outing, I run freshwater through the engine for 15 mintues. I'd like to step the maintenance up a notch and use some cleaner in addition to the water to rinse the salt out of the engine and manifolds. I've seen Salt Away recommended. Would Simple Green also work? It seems to work on everything else...

Lots of folks use vinegar for this purpose (the cheap stuff).

There was a thread a while back where a guy using the Salt away attachment added Castrol cleaner degreaser in the purple bottle to the attachment and was very pleased with the results.I purchased 4 gallons of white vinegar and introduced them to one of my 5.0lx mercs with the winterizing tank with no noticable difference. If you have flushed as religiously as you claim and have never overheated the motor I doubt you have anything to to be concerned with.A hot running motor will turn salt water to crystals at about 190 degrees
