Will the "Sta-Bil Marine Formula" fuel stabilizer void my new motor warranty?

Don't know if this has been asked by other Mercury outboard owners or not,but when I picked up my new boat recently,I forgot to grab a bottle
of Mercury's fuel stabilizer,...on top of the fact that the dealer did not
even put fuel stabilizer in the gas in the first place after asking about it.
Anyway,my question is this: Will using the 'Sta-Bil Marine Formula' fuel
stabilizer void my new motor warranty?

E-mail Mercury Marine with the question. If they say OK then copy the email reply and keep it with your warranty card.

It shouldn't void the warranty and will likely save you the problem of having to use it. It is a great fuel system treatment.

By all means use it...!

Volvo, for example, will not warranty any ethanol issues any longer...and the other manufacturers may be doing the same.

Thanks for the input, fellas! Just so happens I know a guy from a fishing website I USED to belong to told me he never uses stabilizer UNTIL the end of the season when he winterizes his motor because he USES his boat. With
the ethanol issues we face today, you would think think that he would want to use it year around. I know I am going to use it year around,...how about you?

In every drop of E-10...all year around!

Marine Sta-Bil (blue formula) only needs 1 oz. per 10 gallons of gas. Cheapest insurance on the market!

Happy boaitng!

I typically only use a stabilizer on layover as well. Never use stabilizer during the summer. Fuel isn?t in the tank long enough to worry about it. I've burnt 250 gallons of fuel since the end of March and didn't use a drop of additives.

I'm a big believer in the stuff. I'm fortunate enough to have a trustworthy outboard shop handy and they've told me that the ethanol inclusive fuels begin to break down very quickly. I guess if you're burning the fuel rapidly it doesn't sit in your tank long enough to make a difference, but in my case a tank will usually last me close to two weekends. For my rigs I consider it a little bit of money well spent. Like my signature says........
