will this control box work with my outboard

I dont know what kind of motor this came from and I am a noob with controls. if it will work with mine though I am going to buy it.

i have a 1988 Evinrude 25hp.

Cable wise you may be able to adapt it but you will need a red plug type harness and dash controls to go with it.
Your better off just finding a set of complete Evinrude or Johnson controls with a red plug harness all in one.

They are the most common type of controls and shouldn't be too hard to find complete.
