Will this fit my motor?

A few of you were concerned about the welded skeg on my MQ-13 9.5 Johnson. I have been looking for a replacement and found this. 382573, 0382572, Gearcase Assy. (Upper & Lower), 1972 Evinrude 9.5 hp 9222M Rope

Some 50 years ago I had to explain to folks that the upper and lower are a matched set.-----They are assembled , then line bored as an assembly.----These are precision parts !----They must be , because no shimming is required when installing the gears and shafts.----It all fits perfectly because of the precision involved.-----Not an obvious thing to a novice.-----So will the bottom cap attach to your housing ?----Of course it will and it has been done many times.----Results may vary.------But a shop has to inform the owner that it may not work perfectly !
