will trim tabs help?

i have a 1976 17 1/2 foot mfg gypsy star, glass bowrider.it has a 90 hp rude on it. to make a long story short at 3/4 to top speed the boat porpuses steadily unless i trim it way in ,will adding smart tabs to the boat eliminate this problem.trimming it way in cant be very efficent.

Smart Tabs will likely help with porpoising; they eliminated high-speed bow-bouncing on our 18' 190hp i/o bowrider. They made our ride softer in chop too, plus all the usual stuff: lower planing speeds, less bowrise on acceleration, and very little low-speed wandering.

They helped mine alot with that problem also. Buy the "blems" they look fine and are about 50 bucks cheaper!!

thanks guys i will be buying them over the winter i decided.along with boysen reeds for old faithful.not much left of this year and at 5 bucks a gallon cant afford to go out a ton more this year.will use the hydrofoil for the remainder of the season.got to start saving for 5 bucks a gallon for the sleds{snowmachines,1994 v-max yamaha,1980 kawasaki intruder 440} lol.

Make sure to remove the foil and JB weld the holes before you use the Smart Tabs..The foil will no longer be needed!

If anything, you will not crack your knees on the dumb foil anymore. I filled the voids in the motor with JB weld also. Put a piece of duct tape on the bottom, fill the holes with JBW then smooth over the top. My 17' Alum Starcraft with a 60Hp gets on plane a little faster and handles better through the turns. Go fer it!

Yep,The duct tape method with the JB weld works great.
Before it is completely hardened you can sand it smooth..you will never know the holes were there.

The Smart Tabs make my boat corner like it is on rails. They are well worth the money!!
