Will trim tabs on my 22ft deckboat interfere with putting it on my boat lift? Is it more of a problem for some types than others?

Sorry about yet another tab question, but I didn't get a bite on this part last time!

Is your boat lift setup like a trailer? Bunks? If so, there shoud be no problem with adjustable tabs as you simply put them in the up position. My tabs are not an issue with the trailer at all, even if I leave them down. With Smart Tabs they will be in the down position, but should be pushed up by the bunks as you position the boat on the lift (or position the lift under the boat, not quite sure what that procedure is).

If you posted a couple of pix of the boat and lift, I am sure this answer will be very easy and accurate.

I am with quietcat, if they are manuel adjustment you can just trim them up, if smart tabs, they sell a little thing you can use to manually pull them up.

I'll try to get some pics to facilitate the discussion. My concern is the motor stop on the lift. It's positioned quite a ways behind the bunks and I wonder what the chances are the trailing edge of the tabs could catch on it while backing out of the lift.

That stop is in "front" of the drive? I am having a hard time visualizing how the tabs could hit it.

I guess I was a little nebulous with that description. The motor stop is simple a board positioned on the lift such that, after the transom passes over it, the front of the lower drive unit butts up against it to stop forward movement of the boat. I don't know anything about trim tabs, but it seems that they could possibly get hung up on this stop, since they would be mounted on the transom forward of the lower drive.

Yeah, but they are higher as they are mounted as far outboard as possible. I just looked at a bunch of boat lift pictures. I din't see any that would be a problem and a LOT of the existing boat lift users probably have trim tabs. Can you put your hand on the transom now out toward the edges?

I don't think you are understanding how tabs are mounted. They are not mounted below the bottom of the boat. They will "hang" lower, but they can be trimmed up are pulled up depending on weather they are manual adjust or the smart tab type. Look at the pictures in this link and I think you will understand why quietcat and I don't think you will have any problems.
http://www.nauticusinc.com/installation.htm
