I'm putting a reman engine in my boat, and am trying to decide which way to go.
I pulled a Merc 4.3L with the Weber WFB 4 barrel carb.
I would like to install a Vortec 4.3L with a new Edelbrock Performer intake(#2114).
Question is: Will my Weber carb mate up to the Edelbrock intake?

I have just done what you are doing. You will need an adapter from square base to spreadbore carb it actually helped torque from 4200-4800rpm. Everything will hook up except the choke stove, go to electric choke (if you have it already no prob). You will need longer capscrews to bolt carb down. Watch your WOT rpms', this combination usually calls for more pitch in the prop. I had to go from 21p to 23pSS, then still needed the prop worked to hold rpms' down to 4800 wot.

The Weber carb is an Edelbrock. It will bolt right on with no adapters needed. A Weber is not a spread bore carb...

Probably thinking about a "regular" Edelbrock Performer intake. It is a spreadbore intake. The Performer 2114 is a square bore. That's probably where the confusion lies.

Check your service manual, but what I see is that you have a weber wfb squarebore (3304-9565A6(9600)), and should fit edelbrock 2114, which is squarebore.

The service manual also lists a weber for a vortec. It looks like you should change the primary jet from 0.089 to 0.092 and go from yellow to green metering rod spring. The secondary jets (0.089) are the same and the 68-57 rods should work fine.

Ya but the part # he is referring to is not a Quadrajet style spread bore carb. Yes Weber did make a Spread bore carb back in the day for Edelbrock but not no more...

a Merc 4.3L with the Weber WFB 4 barrel carb.

Ayuh,... Weber has built Alota carbs, but the one We're talkin' about is the Carter AFB Clone...
It's Part for Part, a Carbon Copy of the Edlebrock Performer carb...another AFB clone...

The intake I used was a 2114 and the carb was a Weber off a 93 4.3.
I would not have bought an adapter if the carb would just bolt on.
