Gonna need a new windshield and was wondering what the availibity or manufactured ones that would fit is or if I will have to fabricate one myself. Nothing left but the holes. :)

Its too bad you are not up in my neck of the woods, I still have my entire windshield assembly from when my rig was a bowrider. Tough to adapt, but anything is possible.

Never think I won't be in your neck of the woods. How much of jog would it be on a trip to approximately Butte, MT? Might try to see some old friends (as hard as that is to believe that I have friends) ;) They are in Nampa. Just test run the engine in the horse trough but couldn't tell if water was getting to engine, any suggestions? :D

Are there any boat salvage yards in your area? You could also look for a beat down, trashed hull with a windshield that works. The alternative would be to build a windshield out of aluminum and glass or plexi. Yet another alternative is to go to a glass shop and have them cut and bend a port and starboard windshield, kind of like dual console bass boats. The possibilites are near endless. The easiest would be to simply not bother with a windshield at all, just let the hair hang out in the wind....

Not in this immediate area, closest one I have heard about is Near Sacrmento. That would take about four hours off the trip to Idaho. Not going to be making the trip to Montana so I guess that is out anyway. ;)

I don't know what your screen shape should be-is it curved? If it is you might find using Lexan a good idea. It'll need an aluminium frame around the outside but its nice and rigid when curved.Doesn't shatter easily either.

After saying this, someone's gonna tell me that Lexan is the UK name for plexiglass or something like that....

Yes, new old stock. It would approximate a 60 Dodge wrap around window. This is a Power Cat Model 1400. Somewhere in my internet cruising I saw some replacements that would probably work, but at that point there were too many question marks. I would prefer to find something that another member is setting on thereby serving and being served. Thank you very much for asking. Hope no one gets cranky with you. ;)

;) A thin chunk of Lexan should be fairly cheap anyway (possibly cheaper than buying a 2nd hand screen) and it's nice and thin so it'll follow curves well. It's no good for a flat screen at all though-it gets its rigidity from the bend in it.It won't shatter when drilling eiher. The frame is only needed to stop yourself getting cut from the edge as it's very thin-and tough enough to make stones hitting it when towing just bounce off.
Check it out-http://www.polymerplastics.com/transparents_lexan.shtml

There's an order form there too with prices.

When are we gonna get to see some pix of your boat?

[/QB][/quote]

Thank you for your help.
Getting pics for me is rather involved. I have to borrow a camera return the camera and then my daughter or her husband has to dock it to their computer so that the file can be sent posted or whatever.
If I am able I will update you on the progress.
Thanks again for your understanding and support. :D
