I have a brand new windshield to install on my '63 Starcraft, it came with the boat but I am missing all hardware and any lower moldings or gaskets. Might anyone know where I can find such hardware? This is one of those rounded, lexan or plastic windshields. It looks like it had several either studs or some sort of bracket to hold it down, the hull has holes every 12 inches or so along the base of the windshield and there's an obvious wear pattern about an inch wide from what I guess was some sort of rubber gasket or base molding.

I am also considering maybe not using the original windshield, and mounting a 5 piece aluminum frame windshield instead. The newer style windshield would allow me to access the bow area and pull the anchor easier than having to reach over or around the curved lexan windshield.
Does anyone have any input that might make me go either way on my choice of windshields? The main thing I like about the newer glass windshield is the fact that it won't scratch as easy and I can add a windshield wiper and attach a Bimini top to the upper frame. The down side is the added weight and non-original appearance.

Try www.americanmarine.com

They have been making OEM windshields for a lot of major boat builders since 1968 and just may have the hardware & gaskets you need. Look under the "Parts" tab on their home page. Good luck!

Taylor Made still makes the gasket and special mounting hardware you need for that windshield. Go to the Taylor Made website and browse their catalog for what you need.
