Re: Wine bladders for floation bags!
The great floatation alternative, a time honored tradiiton on this site. I am all for experimentation, but one advantage foam has is if the hull gets violantly holed, and your boat is well foamed, you lose very little, if any floatation. The other advantage of foam is you never have to wonder if all those bottles have lost their seal or developed leaks. Another problem with bottles and such is you have less floatation as the temps drop due to the containers contracting (cold air contracts, bottles can collapse slightly, you have less floatation.

If you foam around the bottles, you have that foam expanding against the bottles, which can compress them. If compressed enough, they could lose their seal, you then have a void that can hold water. My recommendation, go with straight 2 part foam. It is the only way to be sure. Anything else that involves voids or airtight compartments or containers are at risk of becoming compromised. I think we all can think of what happened the last time someone touted watertight bulkheads.....
