Re: Winner Center Console

I found the owners manual but it shows diagrams for electrical for the Escape, and different boats but not the CC.Does not show any capacities.

Re: Winner Center Console

Thanks for looking. Since my fuel gauge is so inaccurate, it is not even usable. I took the boat on an 80 mile round trip, but topped off the tanks along the way. I carry 2 jerry cans. I'd really like to find out my fuel cap as I'd like to lose the jerry cans. I might have to do the Studly trick-run it dry. I just don't want the engine to die at some very inappropriate time. Last week I had the boat literally in the surf bass fishing. If the engine stalled at that point it would have been goodby boat. Stu

Re: Winner Center Console

The bass are still around but hunting started, so that's what I'm doing now. What I did toward the last part of the season was get my gauge down below a half tank, then I disconnect the fuel line coming from the tank to my water seperator filter. With a spare hose and bulb, I put a barbed 3/8 fitting between the tank hose and the new primer hose. hung the hose off the back of the boat, put my finger over the end of the hose squeezed the bulb until I got suction, then let it siphon out. It took a while but now I know my tank is around 36 gal. After that, I kept about a gal and put a couple ounces of the K-100 MG and a little stabil, hooked it up to engine, then fogged it out. Now in the spring, I'll hook up the siphon hose and drain any water that is in the tank. Oh, when you first start to siphon, take a clear container and the first, say pint, let it go in the jar because any water will show up, and you can see it in the jar.. If no water, pour some in and you will see the water on the bottom, then add a little K-100 MG, shake it and it is absorbed in the gas.

Re: Winner Center Console

Forgot to tell you. Afriend of mine works at a marina and they took 2 jars and put e-10 gas in each, then added some water , then put some K-100 in one and E-ZORB in the other. Shaking the jars, the E-zorb had a funny color to it and the K-100 made it look like gas. After a couple of days the E-zorb jar you could stick a pencil in it and it would stand up. the K-100 looked normal and they took a wick, put it in the gas and lit it. [Just some information]

The guys right behind me put some fuel additive in their tank. After they limped back to the dock, they pulled out the diptube from the tank. It was filled with some white slime that was like rubber cement. I think the only thing I'll put in my tank is SeaFoam, as it seems to have no ill effects. Stu

OK, I removed the "hatch to nowhere", on my aft deck. Took a saw and sawed open the deck under the hatch. Removed a garbage can full of waterlogged foam and found a white oval fibreglass baitwell in there. I think I'm going to use it as more dry storage though. Stu

Re: Winner Center Console

My name is Bart and I am what looks like part of a dying breed. I just purchased a winner center console SeaQuest model. I am very happy with the purchase. I can't wait til the spring. I do have a question however. My hydrolic lift for my outboard has air in it and I want to know how to bleed the line. How do I do it? Have you all encountered this problem before? Any advise that can be givin will be great. Thank you.

Hi Bart, I think you'll enjoy the boat. Built like a tank. Much beefier than your average 18' cc. Just see what other 18's are rated for. The Winner calls for 175hp. Trim tabs are a must though. You should post the engine lift problem in the outboard section, under the appropriate engine category. If you can post some pics of the boat that'll be great. Stu

To the Winner Center Console club.

check out this 1850 CC for sale in Georgia. Somebody can get a nice deal if they want to put in some elbowgrease.

It is the exact same model as mine, with the transom bracket.

Me, I am getting real antsy. Bought a great new SS prop off of ebay for a great deal. Just waiting for the thaw to come.

any tips on compounding and waxing? The 89 gelcoat is pretty dull on mine. Maybe I should just leave it be. Looks OK from a distance.

Thanks

Re: Winner Center Console

In regard to the fuel capacities: my tank is aluminum, I'm not sure if it is the original as the deck under the console has quite obviously been cut around the fuel tank in the past. I definitely put almost 70 gallons of fuel somewhere in my boat though. It's hard to find specs on these boats anywhere, so who knows what the factory tank capacity is.

Re: Winner Center Console

I want to edit my post: Somehow I copied and posted your post Stu... Sorry. Anyhow I bought my boat in January. I knew of this boat for a few months. The owner rebuilt a 1989 Evinrude 2cyl. Bored out and this motor flys I have to admit. Anyhow I understood that the oil injection quit and blew the other motor. So I'm mixing oil directly with the gas. On the subject of fuel capacity...I can't figure out if I have 35 gals. or 70- 80 gals. I haven't been gutsy enought to run it to empty.. Anyhow I spent a few hours restoring my boat. I found a proiduct that was advertised on DYI one morning called Polyglow.com , This stuff is amazing. It made my fiberglass look new withe the shine and made my boat so easy to clean when it comes out of the gulf. I'll try to upload a pic or two of my boat. Happy to find this site,

Welocme to iboats gizzy! You need to find a "hosting site" for your photos like www.photobucket.com then click the picture icon above the text box ( it looks like a postcard with mountains and the sun above it) you then paste the url to your photo in the box that pops-up. That will put the photo in your post.

Re: Winner Center Console

Well, mystery solved... My aluminum tank is definitely not factory. Someone built this tank specifically for the boat. Nice heavy-gauge aluminum with 2 interior baffles. Still got a hole in the bottom though, and had to be removed. Now I will have to either get it repaired, or get a new one. Really wanted to spend the $$ on something more fun than a gas tank repair, but it will be good to know that I won't be leaking out while I'm 35 miles offshore.

Wow Stu,, That's terrible and what a way to find out about your tanks. I been rebuilding my bildge system and who ever has two pumps back there. One for the bildge and one for the live well... It's a good thing except both are wired on the same switch what it only wanted to work once the right combinations was meet on the switch board... One day I was baling out water. So I'm re-wiring everything new.. Switchs and all. Slowly going to up grade the switch panel... Still haven't been able to up load photos... GL on the tanks...
