Winner zz880 live well question

I finally got this boat running great and lake ready. I’ve only owned ski boats and never operated a live well. Can someone explain how this work. It has a pvc tee at the bottom with a piece sticking up leading out of the back of the boat. It has a black pump at the top that I think is operated by the aerator switch. How does this fill and drain and not overfill? Thanks

Plug the drain at the bottom T. The pump will fill the well to the top of the drain pipe. To drain at the end of the day, remove the plug at the Tee.

It looks like he has an additional plug on the right side bottom.
