Well they finally got the winter cover on my boat yesterday. I went today to have a look and they didn't even brush the snow off the deck. He said it will melt and run off, not to worry.

I contracted this company to do it in early September.....but because the owner had a bout of vertigo, brought on by an ear infection, that delayed the measuring of the boat. Then he had an emergency with a cover he'd made last year and had to drive to Maryland to sort it out, then when he came back things had backed up, but not to worry it'll be on before the snow flies.
It started snowing last week and it was still not on. I phoned him on Wednesday and he said first thing tomorrow morning. I drove by on Friday morning and it was still without cover....I phoned and the girl answered and...and...he had to rush home his son was having an emergency appendectomy...geesh!

It's on and looks good. Hopefully he remembered that I wanted it in at least 3 sections, because I'm not young any more and weight is a consideration. It seems that was forgotten, it's in 2 pieces....that weigh less than 100# each.......GEESH!!! ef-you-see-kay!!!!!!!!!

Re: Winter cover

Don't know how much snow he left in your boat, but a aproximately 8.35 pounds is 1 gallon of water. I hope it's well ventilated, or your going to have a lot of mold clean-up to do in the spring. Have you paid him yet? If not, I would have him remove the cover and correct the problem before it becomes a bigger problem. This person has already proven unreliable, so I wouldn't count on much if he's already been paid. It's really easy for some people to say that somethings "No problem" when it's not theirs. Good luck with this. If it were me, I wouldn't use his services again, unless he really makes things right. Again...Good luck...

Safe and happy boating always!!!

Re: Winter cover

when you put the cover on, make a support to hold the cover up, so the snow will run off the cover, instead of crushing it.

make an x out of 2 x 4's. for the base.
then run a 2x4 vertical, as high as you need it to get the cover tight and high enough to make the water and snow run off.
