Leave it on the trailer and block the entire trailer off the ground so the wheels are not under load. Probably the easiest solution and also gives you access to re-pack the bearings prior to next season.<br /><br />Bob
I've also recently read that you should loosen tie downs (bow and transom) to relieve stress on hull. Does anyone do this? I didn't on boat I had last 2 years but have though about doing it this winter.<br /><br />BL...
Bob, <br />I relize it is a matter of oppion, but, I don't agree with blocking the trailer up like that. What I do is to park the trailer on plywood (keep the tires from dry rotting as bad). I feel that if the springs are not under load (suppension maxxed out) it is bad for them. Tires are cheeper and a more commonally replaced item.<br /><br /> I'm not argueeing, just stating a different oppion.
I also put my tires on planks and loosen winch and tiedown strap. Sunlight attacks rubber and idleness dosn't release compounds included to help prevent this. Good idea to cover tires also. Of course, a good cover that breathes is essential. This regimen has kept my rig fairly trouble free for some years.
