Winter mice are too much this cold winter in New Jersey.

I can not safely set the Snap Trap Victor traps. Too feeble and slow. So I am switching to Electronic ones. I have found all the places where they enter & leave. I want to buy a outdoor camera to see the times & numbers at each location. Will then Silicone RTV the outside when and where they leave to feed and drink.
Any good cameras that transmit to a in the house monitor ? Any not good ones to avoid ? Brands ? Prices ? I have no one near me with a good camera.
Thank you.

Have caught several mice with a 5 gal bucket
Put a small amount of food (bird, dog, cat) in bucket. Place bucket next to something they can climb. Next day or two use 2x4 to crush mice, dump and repeat

Use antifreeze in cool places, it won't freeze and they will drown and the clean up will be easier than crushing, mice are not stupid they smell death and blood.

Well I've caught and killed 9 in short order, so maybe they are dumb here

I found this in a boat once. I don't know how long it was in there, but it still smelled strong and no signs of mice.

We've caught many mice using the 5-gallon bucket technique. We put a bit of peanut butter in the bottom of the bucket and use a 2x4 as a ramp from the floor to the lip of the bucket. My daughter can't stand the idea of killing them, so we take them far away and release them in the woods.

Late to the party
I used to use the victor traps and then discovered these on Amazon. By far the easiest to set just like squeezing a clothes pin. Hair trigger. We live in the woods and field mice can be an issue. These things never miss, a mouse steps on it he’s a goner. We’ve wiped them out to where we only get a few mice a year now. Granted they are plastic and I had one break after a few kills, but still worth the cost.

2' x 2' pieces of plywood
2' x 2' piece of hardware cloth
1" copper tube cap
12 gauge Romex

Cut out a 2" diameter hole in middle of hardware cloth.

Staple to the plywood

Screw the copper tube cap to center

Connect one leg of romex to hardware cloth, the other leg to the copper cap

Fill cap with peanut butter

Connect to 230 volt outlet

Mice come along, smell peanut butter, go for it and "pop!".

It's more fun if you have an old neon transformer

Buy a small bottle of strong peppermint oil, add a few drips to cotton balls and spread them around. Mice hate the smell of peppermint, some use pepperment candies but the sugar draws other insects. Peppermint oil works best and is cheap.

Nah , I like em dead , dont care how ..........well maybe not the "half a mouse " or the " little pile of guts " halfway up the hall.
Better than ripping the lining of the hallway lookin for the stinkin little hua only to find it under the mat we had been standing on for the last hour 😅

I would be prepared to lose a few, but that would indicate they aren't as hardy and unsuitable to breed from anyway. When I moved the mice from the hot upstairs to the cool basement last year, I lost two. It just happens to weak individuals in temp. shifts sometimes.

I hear ya, just so you understand, the peppermint does not kill them...they hate the smell and will come no where near it. A small handful of cotton balls around the perimeter of my barn and mice stay away.

Do they hate enough to move out of a house in January?

Many have said mix a little bit of sugar in instant potatoes. They eat it, go drink and it blows them up from the inside. Don't use it inside the house because it might bring ants

Ha ha, nah , they abandon the cold pepperminty barn and move into the house .
The other issue I have is a wife who would rather take them outside and let them go . Now this became a real problem and I proved my point by putting stock marker on the ones we released ....... and they all turned up inside within a few days , so no catch and release here now .
