Well, here it is. Progress has not exactly been fast, but so far so good. I have some perforated stainless steel to use as a backdrop for the gauges and just picked up some lighted tip switches from GLS. What do ya think?

Thanks! It doesn't look like much for the 40 or so hours I have into it so far, but it should soon enough. The gps goes in the lower middle, tachs, trims, speedo, and sync go up top with additional gauges and switches on the lower two left and right panels.

New helm, step two

New helm, step two

Well, a little more sanding and five of six coats of Epifanes and she'll be ready to go into the boat. This was my first time working with teak. It definitely had its challenges, but wasn't terrible to work with at the end of the day. Any hints on using the Epifanes Wood Finish? This is the stuff made for teak, so I am assuming it should go pretty smooth.

The first pic is one I posted a couple weeks ago showing how it will fit in...I hope:eek:

Thanks, Wood. I'll do that. I'm probably 60 hours into it not including looking for materials, switches, etc. Don't even want to think about how many templates I built.

Thanks guys! It's always nice to know that your fellow boaters appreciate your efforts. Just don't look at the wiring job:eek: I'm an architect by trade, so I can't really help myself when I see something that needs to be "improved". This was probably my most ambitious mod to date on the boat. What I really wanted was a 60's CC Roamer with the aluminum or steel hull. I had grand visions of completely rebuilding it...Maybe someday.

One of my favorite websites/builders is Van Damme Boats. Absolutely incredible work.
