I plan on storing my boat upside down for the winter as pictured below but covered with a breathable cover.

My question is, is it ok to have it off the ground on 3 points like that or is that hard on the hull/frame? This boat is light, 2 people can easily lift it. But to sit like that all winter, with snow accumulating....?

Re: Winter Storage

Why not put a couple of two-by's under there and support the ends?

You are fine. I store one of my boats upside down every year very similar.

...those little fur-bearing varmits will really appreciate the winter house you have built for them !!!!! Especially when they discover (I suspect) those open-bottom, styrofoam filled seats !!!!
Set a tray of Decon (sp) on the underside of each of the seats and you will be okay.:)
If you set the boat on saw horses the shade wouldn't kill the grass under the boat.

no problem except the "dog house" effect (ever see the redneck doghouse mad eout of a truck cap?) Maybe a bunch of moth balls in there would keep out the critters, too, or lift it occasionally.

WARNING!
I have a boat 12ft row boat that was given to me, it was stored upsidown and water had gotten into the rolled lips of the gunnels formed ice and split them wide open, yours may not be effected due to it's design but do check for areas that could hold water, this peticular boat i have would have been better off stored with bow way up high. With a cover it's probably a non issue.
Sorry I couldn't answer your question about support, but IMO your fine.

With a couple 2x4s crossways, you could probably store it upside down right on the trailer. Better for the grass, and less likely to attract critters. Mothballs on the bottom(top?) of the seats wouldn't hurt.

As for support, either way you're fine. It would take an awful lot of snow to cause any issues.
