winter use

what do you guys do that use your boats during the winter to help protect them from freeze. i normally have my boat winterized at the dealer, but i've been missing out on some great fishing the last several years and i'm not going to this year. is just draining the water from the motor and manifolds after each use acceptable, along with power steering cooler? my boat is a 98 5.0 volvo penta.

Yup, draining is a must, and all you need to do.

When I lived in PA I used to use two of these (one on each side of block). Worked perfect for 4 years.

I still use them on my winterized boat here in VA to keep the block nice and dry on the inside. They heat the block up toasty warm...
