Ok,

The 1350 is now running greeat! This is the question, can I leave it in the water w/o it freezing? We normally seldom get below 20 at night, but the water never freezes, and I leave it in the lake with the prop all the way down. Water is 40 at the coldest. So, OK or not?

If the lake doesn't freeze, neither will any water that "may" have made its way into the lower unit. The block is self draining if left vertical.

Most recommendations for cold weather usage say for cold temps keep gearcase submerged,

DHP

Will do. I have had a I/O here & leave it in all year w/o problems. I do leave the outdrive down, as I will do for the outboard. I just wasn't sure if the motor was self draining if left vertical. Thanks again guys, the family loves the floating barge!
