A buddy has a 90hp Mercury 2 stroke OB on his pontoon that is kept if the water in a slip year round. Being in North central Texas we have mild Winters, the water temp will drop to the low 40's, occaisional air temps in the 20's for less than 48hrs. (80degrees plus today!)

He keeps the lower unit in the water year round. Anyone have suggestions on what if anything he should do differntly?
Thx-Joe

Check the gear oil to see if it has water intrusion and change/repair it. Just add some stabilizer to fuel and fog the cylinder and it will be good to go. Word is E-10 fuel can cause rust to form internally if setting over long periods.
