winterizing 3.0 merc

I have to move my boat out of a 60 degree heated garage. Usually I just change oil,gear lube, drain the block and fog the engine each year, works great. I now need to store outside. My question is how do I fill my block with antifreeze? thru the drain hoses?? all help would be appreciated as I need to move this boat very soon.

i'm not a boat mech, but think ya need to find where all of the drain points are on your engine. i had three on mine. one on the manifold in the back underside, one on the exhust riser at the bottom side and one on the block. look in your service manual to find where your drain points are. drain them completely and then close them. think there's controversy over the antifree thing. i left my block dry. i'm on the assumtion that air don't freeze. bet ya get someone else's opinon on that though. just guessing......

If you have in fact Drained the cooling system,.......<br /><br />No further winterization is nessessary........<br /><br />Air Doesn't freeze......
