I have a dilema I am pondering. Is it possible to winterize a engine with cracked or warped heads?

I dont have the money to get new heads or a remanufactured engine right now.

This is my first boat and my first season of boating and I have come to realize that it is very expensive hobby.

I just want to save the motor and deal with the head issue next spring, just cant afford to fix it right now.

By the way it's a 4.3 Mercruiser.

Any help please in how I can save this boat.

Kind of depends on what you mean by winterizing. If all you want to do is prevent freeze damage, and assuming the engine doesn't run, just drain the cooling system. Spray some fogging oil in the cylinders and you should be set for the winter. You should do the drive part, as it's separate from the engine and needs done.
