I need some help with Winterizing my 1979 Jetboat equipped with a 454 BB. I have winterized our I/O many of times, but I am not sure of what I need to do with my Jetboat. It has a Berkeley jet. A few questions I have:
1. Does the actual jet need to be drained in any way? Could there be water in the Jet that could freeze and harm the Jet?
2. Engine Block. I pulled the thermostat cover off which the two disharge lines are connected to and that caused a pressure release and water from the engine came out of the jet intake. I opened the valves on the block. Just a few drips of water came out. How do I winterize the block? If I put antifreeze in where the thermostat sits, the antifreeze will just come out through the jet intake.
3. Do I need to winterize my wet headers? I am sure there is water in the headers or lines leading to them. Could that water cause problems?

Please Help!

You will have better luck posting in pwc area. J.B. should be along to move it for you soon.

Jim

Re: Winterizing a Jetboat

It is a 20' jet boat with a 454. Although it runs off of a jet, I'm sure there are different procedures to do than a PWC.??

Re: Winterizing a Jetboat

Go to the FAQ section for engine wlnter tips...then go to the PWC section for questions on the jet for winter,
