My boat motor does not run it has low compression and a stuck valve. I will be replacing the motor with a long block in the early spring so at this point it?s just about preserving my core.

What is the best way to winterize this? Everything I have read pertains to a running motor since I will not be able to draw antifreeze into it with a running engine what are my options for winterizing the motor and outdrive?

Thanks

Drain the block and manifold. . . There should be some drains that can be opened on the lower end of the engine block. Take hoses off of the manifolds an any other low-lying places. Blow some compressed air into the various openings, etc.

Air don't expand when it gets cold.

Ayuh,... Drain the block, 'n manifold, 'n riser...

Pull the big hose off the circulatin' water pump, 'n lower the drive...

Air don't freeze...
