I have a general idea in how to winterize a motor. I have a 1990 johnson and I use the fogging oil with the threaded fitting on it. I spray the whole can in while running it and then spraying the rest of the can in each cylinder. I was ondering if there is anything special I need to do to make sure my 2000 fitch motor stays running good after the winter season. I always change my lower unit oil so thats not a big deal. thanks

if you are going to store with gas in it...use a stabilizer like Marine stabil...run the engine a bit so the mix is in the fuel system.....then fog it like u have been....change the lower end oil prior to storage in case any water is present in the lower end....

and keep the batteries maintained over the winter

Re: Winterizing fuel injected Ficht?

Found this on THT website:

"... Bombardier and he told me its much better to run the motor on a "soup mix" of fogging oil, gasoline, two stroke, and stabil from a seperate small gas can. He said this is the best way to winterize a fuel injected motor and its right out of the Bomb/OMC service manual."

Makes sense to me.
