The manual for my 1994 225 Johnny says to add stabilizer and run it through the carbs for storage. I was thinking of running the carbs dry, but the forum says to leave them full and to squeeze the bulb every month or so to keep the carbs full with gas. I won't be here for 7 months, so I won't be able to squeeze the bulb monthly. Should I leave the carbs full, or should I run them dry considering that I won't be here to "pump" them up monthly?
Stalker

Re: winterizing fuel

I run twice the recommended amount of stabilizer and leave it untouched for 6 months. Have never had a gummed up carb. Just be sure to operate motor (and boat) for at least 1 hour after adding stabilizer to make sure it is mixed well and completely thru the system. You'll probably receive as many different recommendations on this topic as replies. Good luck

I'm with angus....put in the stabilizer, run the motor for a while, then leave your carbs full of stabilized fuel...you should be good to go in 7 months time.

Brew

I agree, but I don't know that doubling the amount of stabil will help. I just use as directed and it works.

Thanks for the help guys. I'll put in the Stabilizer, run it through the system and leave it at that.
Stalker
