First step in any Cold Weather Precaution procedure is Drain thoroughly at all points that the MFG states. You can stop there and not worry about any breakage due to below freezing temps. Introducing anti-freeze improperly after that can actually cause damage during a lengthy period below freezing.

I use a mixture of gases that are readily (actually unavoidably) available. This mixture replaces the water as it drains out, pretty slick and cost effective..

I presume you are referring to a blend of primarily Nitrogen and Oxygen?? :)

If you have drained and only air remains, then any antifreeze introduced would be straight. Are you suggesting that the boat might see temps below -50F?
