I am in the precess of winterizing my boat and was wondering if anyone had any tips for me. It is a 27 foot Chris Craft with an OMC 454 King Cobra. I have changed the oil, topped up the fuel tank, stabalized the fuel and ran the engine. Removed the batteries and charger. As for draining the water from the engine, I opened both pet-cocks (one on each side) and removed the water hoses(lowest ones) to drain any excess water. The next thing I did was remove the impeller from the outdrive and drain the water from there. Oil in the foot has also been changed.

This is the first time I do it myself and I keep thinking that maybe I missed something.

Any help would be appreciated. :)

Re: Winterizing

how about any air conditioners fresh water systems and such. make sure the manifolds got drained. remove the hose from the bottom of the manifolds or the rubber plugs in the rear.

Re: Winterizing

Just how important is it to pour oil down the carb to winterize? I forgot all about that and already drained the water out and put some shrinkwrap on the lower unit.

87 Merc 4.3L
