Wire between upper and lower unit? (What is it)

I have a 2001 Johnson 90 HP 2 stroke that I just bought. I'm planning to change with water pump on it next weekend when I noticed a wire (nipple?) going from the upper to Lower unit. I have not seen in any instructions this wire and wondering what it is and what I need to do with it. Any ideas?

That feeds pressure to a speedometer.

It's a hose and be sure to disconnect it when you pull the lower unit for the water pump.
