Check this out. My bilge pump was blowing fuses so i disconected it and no more blown fuses. Checked voltage and had 12v dc. Now I've installed a brand new bilge pump and it didnt work. Cut the wires and I've got 12v dc. Hooked the pump straight to the battery and it works. Tried reconnecting bilge pump to wires and no go. What gives got voltage maybe i got a tempramental pump that dont like switches. Best i can figure i'll probly need to pull new wire. Any ideas?

Re: Wire gremlin

Is there an autmotic float switch on this bilge pump (as in does it have three wires or two)? If so, you have it wired wrong. If not, you are doing something wrong. You cannot have 12 volts at the end of a circuit and not have a functioning device IF it is wired properly. If you have the pump fastened down to tightly it may be binding the impeller.
