I know it's been beaten but I'm gonna ask anyway. I have the option to use 8 or 4 ga wire for my trolling motor. I know 4 is overkill but is 8 enough? It's a minn kota 55lb and the wire run would be about 6 feet. Think that would be good enough? I sure hope so because 4 ga is just a bit harder to make a connection to the trolling motor plug. I work at a car audio store and we don't carry 6ga which I seems to be preffered. It seems to me that 8ga could handle the estimated 40 amp draw over 6'.
