Using a lanyard is impractical in my application so I need some feedback on wireless kill switches. Anyone using one?

Not personally but I have a couple friends that use the Autotether. They like it and think it's essential safety gear.

I agree with you but have not seen one.
I just installed a 15 HP Honda electric start and would love to find a remote control to start shift change speeds a kill.
Probably cost more than the motor but one can dream.

Maritech makes one called the Virtual Lifeline, works like a charm. I installed 3. Fire the motors up (twins), drop the "fob" in a cup of water, they shut off NOW!

They don't give too much information. What is the difference between the ?standard? and the ?helm mount? system other than $200?

Helm mount has the switch panel (which is the ones I've installed), standard doesn't. The switch panel has a test switch as well as override, and also has a reset to allow the operator still on board to start the motors (even though the fob is still in the water) to restart the engines and retrieve the overboard victim...

I gotta think the "standard" would have this feature also, but I haven't done an install...
