Have an older boat, had to get a newer motor, working through the wiring differences in the old harness and new motor is fun.... I'm getting to where I think I'm close to going and buying a battery and seeing what happens....
Anyway I have a throttle/shift setup the way we bought the boat. Has no idle lever, is not an direct OMC setup that I can tell... It has the 3 wires for TNT, got that worked out. But there are 2 other wires that come out, as I recall they were going to a small switch inside the controls, I'm guessing so you can't start it in gear...how and what do they hook up to?
Also anyone good-- I have not looked into it deep enough yet, its fun enough with an old book for the harness and a new book for hte motor.... I have a new kill switch, anyone know which wire to splice it into? 85 or 89 harness for 89 Ev, 200.
As an aside it was fun enough having external relays for the TNT etc... and wiring driving me nuts. And found out the 94 Johnson 200 now has relays for TNT on the motor....
