i have a 1974 50 hp 500 and trying to figure out some wires on the harrness that not hooked up i can not shut the motor off with the key i have to hit the choke button to make it die and i dont have a manual i have to get up to the dealer and order one and the econemy is tough right now but we all no that so i was hoping someone would have some online diagram that could help me thanks for reading

All driver ign wiring is the same so this 75 and your 74 are the same.

what is the tach connector ? how would i use it

Most tachs today are alternator drivin if thats the case the sender wire should be moved to one of the yellow connections at the rectifier
