can anybody advise me how to correctly connect my leisure battery to the charging circuit, i have mercruiser 485 engine, the main battery shows 14.6 volts across the terminals with the engine running, when i do the same test on the leisure battery it reads 12 volts and runs down, the leisure battery is brand new and if i disconnect the live terminal and test between it and ground with the engine running only reads 7.6 volts?

How is the battery wired? In parallel with the main battery? Thru a switch? etc

the battery is wired through an isolator switch to the voltage regulator, i do have the mercruiser manual but it only refers to the main engine battery

Is this "isolator switch" a manually operated 4 position battery switch that says 1, 2, both and off? If so then do you ever run it at the "both" position?
