My son and I have purchased a Bayliner Santiago. It has a chevy 350/volvo 280 out drive. I believe the boat is a late 1990's model. The hull number is BLBA45SF0379-9. We are in the process of shaking down all the problems and potential problems we can find before launching and running the boat on the water. A wiring diagram of the boat would help greatly in our process. One problem we found, for instance, is a loose purple wire in the engine compartment that gets 12 volts to it when the ignition key is in the on position. We can not see anything on the engine where the wire might go. There is a purple wire that is attached to a contact on the ignition switch.

Does anyone know where we might look for a manual with wiring diagrams for this boat? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, GeorgeN Santee, CA

You failed to mention the type of outdrive you have. Diagrams are included in the service manual for your specific engine and outdrive. The boat itself has its own electrical system and only the manufacturer can provide that. However, scroll to the top of this forum and look at the Generic Wiring Diagram in the stickies.

Based on the HIN, your boat is a 1979. Bayliner stopped using the Santiago name in 1982 or so..
