Good evening all... I have a question about my 1982 Mercury L6 90 hp outboard. The wiring from both the stator and trigger to the switch boxes are extremely worn to the point I feel I should replace them.
The current wiring looks extremely worn, such as stripped back from the ring connectors, cracked sheathing and exposed wiring, etc.. I would like to just replace them. They look about 16 ga and don't look like they are tinned for protection. Anyone have any suggestions or "hell no" remarks to doing a job like this? Don't sugarcoat anything...

Easy as, just do tinned wire and heat shrink wrapping
However its hard to get same coloured wires to replace them with.
Mine are all different colours under insulation tape, ugly

True. I'm wondering if a label maker would help out a bit. I'll definitely look into it.
